Do Not Speak to the FBI without an Attorney: CAIR-TX
In this video, Executive Director Faizan Syed discusses the importance of having legal representation when speaking to law enforcement, including the FBI. Since the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, American Muslims have been put under surveillance by the FBI and the Counter Terrorism Task Force. FBI agents routinely visit everyday Muslims at home, work, school, the Masjid, and other settings and request to meet and talk with them. This is unique to the Muslim community and is not common among other faith traditions in the U.S. As the FBI spends valuable resources to spy on tens of thousands of American Muslims, they are spending less resources to counter violent right-wing domestic terrorist. If you are approached or contacted by law enforcement respectfully assert your right to have an attorney present. Call CAIR-Texas DFW and our office will connect you with an attorney free of charge.
