Democrats Rashida Tlaib (Michigan) and Ilhan Omar (Minnesota) both won their races for House seats on Tuesday 11/8/2018 during the Midterm Elections, becoming the first Muslim women ever elected to Congress.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is urging Muslim community member participation in the 2018 Midterm Election. This election is very important and we are already seeing high voter turnout in early voting. On Monday, October 22, the first day of early voting 55,384 ballots had been cast in Dallas County, according to the county elections department. That surpasses the 29,217 from the first day of early voting for the last midterm election in 2014.
