CAIR Condemns Dallas Police Officers’ Islamophobic and Racist Facebook Posts, Seeks Diversity Training

“It’s shocking that some of the DPD officers posted memes promoting Islamophobia, love of the confederate flag, and approval of police violence against civilians,” said CAIR-DFW Acting Executive Director Ekram Haque. “This type of behavior is of particular concern coming from law enforcement officers whose salaries are paid by public tax dollars and who are sworn to uphold the highest level of professionalism. DPD needs to assure Dallasites of all faiths and ethnicities that they will receive professional and unbiased service from their police officers. We ask DPD to denounce these posts and provide diversity training to all officers.”
In recent days, media outlets have reported a worrisome national trend of offensive posts by police officers.
